TWINS----a side effect!!!!

so herez my first blog n ya i would share one of the odd things which i learned in the medical field today.
mom called me to her chamber n just asked to take the history of a lady who was lying calmly on the couch..not knowing what was inside her.I started wit the name..rookmani....c/c etc...which we gen ask. then asked her lmp(last mens period) which came out to be 2nd of this april. she just complained of lower abd pain...thts it.
then mamma started the sonography machine..a honest boon to medical science. she applied the gel...kept the probe n showed me the screen....there was something moving...i identified it as the fetus.
she kept on moving the probe n telling me abt the bladder, the fetal heart beating, the uterus wall. then suddenly in the view came a wall in the uterus. i shouted "is it a bicornuate?"
mom shrieked n asked me to look again.i was wrong...it wasnt the wall but the sac..2 sac with two fetus!!! i gasped n said " oh these r twins"
but mom didnt tel the patient abt this...she told tht she would tel this news to the attendants as pt in gen cant accept this fact. (God!!! can u just believe this....my frens would die to listen to this gift for them!!!!) those 2 fetus i could imagine.. their movt...their heart beating!!!
then i was asked to look at her prescriptions..n ya to find something v imp.
i could just trace tht her t/t started around jan. n she was on few drugs. on 2 of her papers was '5 6 7 8 9 tarik' written opp a drug levotol(or smthing like this--brand name). mom kept on asking wht was the diagnosis....but i was dumb.
then she made me realize tht actually these twins were not a natural gift but a SIDE EFFECT of the drug clomiphene.
this drug used 4 infertility was given to the lady. there is multiple ovulation...but getting twins,triplets or even quadreplets is a bit rare. n this was the side effect which the lady bore as ving twins!
